Meet the teacher - Mrs McDowall

It is a real pleasure teaching at Holy Cross Primary school where I have been for quite a few years! I really enjoy teaching and love making the classroom as exciting as possible for all children to learn in. I have a real passion for early reading and phonics and I am dedicated to ensuring that all children learn to read and share my passion for it.
Outside of school, I enjoy working out and spending lots of quality time with my family and friends. I also love going on holiday, I like to always have a holiday planned!
Meet the teacher - Mrs Burton

I’ve been teaching and working in education for 20 years and it is my passion to help children to grow to be the best versions of themselves and to progress to their full potential. I have been music lead and MFL lead and I work on anti-bullying in school.
I love spending time with my family, playing musical instruments, teaching and singing! I also enjoy sharing the joy of music with children at Holy Cross through the curriculum and through extra-curricular activities. I love the emphasis that we place on music at Holy Cross; our singing is second to none!
Having worked at Holy Cross for a while, I love the community feeling that makes our school so special.
Outside of school, you will find me reading most kinds of books to myself and to my son; watching films; taking walks around the beautiful areas surrounding Swindon and playing the piano for local musical groups. If you pop your head over the Wyvern Theatre orchestra pit, you might also spot me on one instrument or another…
Here's to another wonderful year, with wonderful children with whom I feel so lucky to be working and who are pleasure to teach.
Meet the teacher - Miss Turner

I am thrilled to be teaching at Holy Cross. Previously I have been working as a supply teacher across Swindon, where I have been in 40 schools, including spending some time at Holy Cross.
Outside of school I love musical theatre and try to go and see as many musicals as I can. Also, I enjoy crafting and being creative particularly doing Lego, diamond art and scrapbooks. My favourite subject to teach is history and I love extending my knowledge wherever I can. I love going to new places, particularly if there is a beach, aquarium or something historical involved and spending time with my family.
