I am in my second year of teaching here at Holy Cross and I couldn’t think of a better school to start my teaching career in. I started my journey at the school as a supply teacher and loved the school so much I applied for a full-time position. Everyone is so welcoming from the staff and children to the wider community. I really enjoy teaching Year 2, we have so much fun learning about the world around us and go on lots of fun and exciting trips. I am also Art Lead. I love being creative and it’s a real joy going around the school and seeing how creative the children can be in the amazing art work they produce!
Outside of school, I enjoy baking and decorating cakes (I think this is where my creative side comes from) and also going for walks with my puppy, Millie. I also enjoy spending lots of quality time with my family and friends.
In Year 4, Term 3, we have recently been learning about rainforests and persuasive letters, which we have linked together. Our persuasive letters that we write are going to be sent to our Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. In guided reading lessons, we have read and enjoyed The Firework Maker’s Daughter by Phillip Pullman and we all loved it very much.
Our author of the term is Anthony Browne. We have listened to many of his books in story time.
We have really enjoyed our rainforest topic, particularly and have been fascinated by facts about deforestation, especially around orangutans and how they are endangered.
