Year 3 had a great time when they visited Avebury on Friday 10th May. The children had a great time learning about the stones, looking at them and drawing them. They saw skeletons, tools, pots and many other artefacts from the Stone Age. The children loved learning about the barber stone, where a skeleton was found underneath it. It was thought that this was a young man who was employed in digging out the stone when it toppled upon him as it fell.
The following tools were found and archaeologists thought that he may have been a barber or a surgeon.
A great day was had by all and the children were a real credit to Holy Cross.
