In design and technology (DT) lessons, Year 3 have spent this term making book bags. The DT was linked to science lessons, looking at reflective materials and designing a bright book bag that could be seen clearly in the dark when a light was shone on it. The children evaluated existing book bags to see what made them good, they designed, made and evaluated their own bags. The children learnt to sew on a button or use Velcro as a fastener and they joined material together using 'whip stitch'.
