This term in Year 5, we have been studying the book, 'The Journey' by Francesca Sanna. The book is told through the eyes of a child and explores the journey and decisions made by the family as they are forced to flee their home to escape the turmoil of war. After reading the book, our children wrote some harrowing newspaper reports about children travelling from the Ukraine to the UK. They also created some beautiful pieces of artwork in the style of Henri Matisse depicting the mountains through which the children in the book travelled.
