Let's Celebrate: 2022 - 2023
Year 2 - Term 4 Celebrations
This term, we have focused on extending our knowledge about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We learnt all about a wonderful ship he created called the SS Great Britain and why this ship was the best ship created of its time.
In Maths, we looked at shape and enjoyed learning all about 2D and 3D shapes and their vertices, edges and faces. We then used Venn Diagrams to categorise these shapes into different groups.
During World Book Day, we had lots of fun watching Masked Reader videos and using clues to work out which teachers were behind the mask. We then completed an activity based on the story 'The Proudest Blue'. We looked at what made us different and how we can embrace these differences. We also enjoyed reading with the Year 4 children and hearing different books that others found exciting.
Finally, this term we have been learning about food chains and minibeasts in science and on Wednesday went on our school trip to Westonbirt. It poured with rain but we were very prepared with our wellies and coats and enjoyed learning all about minibeasts and their habitats and different plants ready for our science topic next term.
