In Year 3, the children have been learning about Plants in science. The children have identified and described the functions of different parts of flowering plants such as; roots, stem, trunk, leaves and flowers. The children also explored how the parts of the flower contribute to the life cycle of flowering plants.

The children also explored the requirements of plants for life and growth such as; air, light, water, nutrients from soil, and room to grow.

The children investigated the enquiry question: Do plants need soil to grow?
