Year 6: Term 5 - Celebrations
This term, Year 6 have been working tirelessly to prepare for their SATs and showed dedication and ownership in their individual preparations. In the mornings of SATs week, it was great to see so many children coming in to have breakfast with each other before the exams begun and it was an excellent way to reduce stress and have a clear mind before starting any test. I don’t think as teachers we could emphasise enough how PROUD we are of each and every one the children in Year 6 for the work they have put into these exams.
As part of the celebrations of the King's Coronation, Year 6 began reading and writing non-chronological reports about the Royal Family focusing on all of key formal writing techniques taught in the term. They then got to share their writing with the children of Year 2. It was lovely to see how both groups enjoyed sharing and discussing their writing with them and I know that the children are keen to do this again soon!
To finish of this term, the end of year production was announced: Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits, by Craig Hawes. This production will be full of fun and laughter and will certainly get your children singing at home!
Next term will be the children's final one at Holy Cross, but with this comes a few memory making moment, including a couple of trips, production madness and sports day.
