Let's Celebrate: 2023 - 2024
Diary Writing
This term we have been reading The Bee Who Spoke by Al MacCuish and Rebecca Gibbon. In the first lesson we transported ourselves to Paris. We imagined we were in a café in the middle of Paris and ate some delicious French goods such as croissants and pan au chocolat. We have then been learning about the features of a diary and we have written some lovely diaries as Belle, describing her time in the city and the countryside.
Maths Week In Year 2
National Storytelling Week
In the week of the 29th January, we celebrated National Storytelling Week. We wanted to celebrate traditional tales from all around the world. In Beech Class we were lucky to have Imani’s mum who shared a story from Kenya. It was a beautiful story teaching us about respect, kindness and patience.
In Cedar Class, Mrs Worzalla read us the story of the Gruffalo. She read some of the pages in Polish and we really enjoyed learning about Poland and hearing a story read in another language.
Hot and Cold Places
In geography this term, we have been learning all about the Arctic and Antarctica and also deserts. We have made comparisons and investigated the features of these places as well as looking at the animals that live there and how they survive.
