Let's Celebrate: 2023 - 2024
Term 3 Year 6
This term we have learnt about Gary Crew and Shaun Tan's book, The Viewer. We have learnt several techniques to help develop dramatic mystery stories including: parenthesis, fronted adverbials and semi colons. We have been creating our own mysteries stories based on this style of writing.
By Riha, Rhea, Bartosz, Vania, Jolanka and Karmela.
English - The Viewer
A lovely mystery story written by Ethan G. inspired by The Viewer.
Geography - Sustainability
Persuasive letters to Mrs Dowdeswell with suggestions of how to make the school more sustainable.
Maths Week in Year 6
Teams of children used a coordinates to locate questions around the school. They solved word problems involving area and perimeter.
Pattern spotting work where children made observations of patterns in a stain glass window and were asked how many of each colour would be needed if the pattern had 22 panels? They also completed a problem solving activity where they had a circle with 9 dots around the circumference and they needed to draw as many different triangles as they could, by joining any three of the dots on the edge. Why not have a go at home and see if you can find all of the possibilities:
