This term our Chaplaincy Team children worked very hard to organise a charity event in support of Swindon Night Shelter, a local charity which provides food for the homeless around Swindon. Our Year 5 chaplains produced posters to advertise the event and our Year 4 chaplains promoted it around the school by talking to all the children and organising an assembly with Dawn Prosser, manager of the Shelter. For a whole week the children have been bringing in full cereal boxes, which were eventually used to create a giant domino chain running from our school to the charity. Thanks to your generous donations, we collected 555 boxes! This event has attracted so much attention from the media that the school was visited by BBC Wiltshire and the Link Magazine! Our Chaplains made us proud by talking to the press about how much they loved “helping our community and ensuring that everyone gets their fair share.”
