Parents do not have a right to take their children out of school for holidays during term time. By law you must ask permission for your child to miss school. Good attendance at school is vital for your child’s learning. Your child will fall behind in their academic studies if they repeatedly miss school. All absences must be authorised in advance by the Headteacher.

The Headteacher shall not grant any Leave of Absence during term time unless they consider there are exceptional circumstances relating to the application.

Requests to visit family members living in another country are not classed as exceptional circumstances.

Parents do not have any entitlement to take their children on holiday during term time.
